I didn't watch this whole interview, but I found James pretty interesting! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoFkqLKPAL0
What I learned from this Class
My major takeaway from this class is that I learned that I don't hate art as much as I thought I did. To be honest when class started I thought art was a waste of time, more of a past time than a career. I didn't see how art could make any contributions to society, however; my views have since changed. I now understand the impacts that art can have.
Favorite Project - Triptych!
My favorite project was the geotagging triptychs we created. I enjoyed created an homage to my home city and sending it to Primanti Bros! While I was home I asked if they received it in the mail and they did. The manager gave me my sandwich for free!

New Media Installation in Seattle
"Lean-out, Lean-to was triggered by an encounter with an inventive truck canopy turned shed in a quiet neighborhood in Spokane. The multi-media installation revolves around a sculptural interpretation of that make-shift shed as a monolithic chamber of secrets. Through stop-motion animations of enigmatic and obscured landscapes and recordings of animal mimicry, distress, and song, the Jack Straw New Media Gallery will be altered into a stage set for a forgotten story." http://www.jackstraw.org/

Data Visualization
Here is a short article, or opinion piece, on if data visualization is art. The author says, "The obvious answer here is that data visualizations can be art. They share similar processes to art creation, and they are viewed in a similar manner." I liked the way the author broke down the process of data driven art, and I agree that data visualization can be art. http://blog.visual.ly/is-data-visualization-art/

Would you eat Fukushima soup? Two brothers cooked up soup using ingredients from Fukushima, Japan and served it at the Frieze Art Fair. According to CNN, "Frieze opens its doors for the 12th year this week, with 162 galleries from 25 countries rubbing shoulders under a massive new tent designed by Universal Design Studio." Check out this article on CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2014/10/16/travel/frieze-art-fair-storify/index.html?hpt=tr_c2.
